FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Nichols College softball team rebounded from a 5-2 loss to Salem State to defeat Newbury College 7-5 Monday morning at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic at the Centurylink Sports Complex.

Alexis Ferris allowed 11 hits and five runs (two earned) with three walks and seven strikeouts in six innings.

Shannon Morin tossed a complete-game, five-hitter to earn her first collegiate win. Sophomore
