Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Bison rally to tie Purple Knights

Recap
Sophomore Filip Virgili recorded his first collegiate hat trick in Nichols College's 4-4 tie with Saint Michael's College Saturday evening in non-conference men's ice hockey action at Levy Rink.

Junior Vincent Crivello picked up a pair of assists for the Bison (6-4-1) while sophomore Nate Foster netted his second goal of the season and first collegiate short-handed tally. Sophomore netminder Henry Burns came on in relief of sophomore Matt Efros between the pipes for NC and stopped all 12 shots he faced to earn the decision.

Senior Nic Hermary potted his second and third goals of the season for the Purple Knights (3-7-2), who led 4-1 late in the second period and outshot the Bison 31-30. Junior Tim Decker turned aside 26 shots to move to 3-2-1.

Saint Michael's led 2-0 after 20 minutes of play before Virgili banged home his first goal of the season 1:53 into the second period. His second of the contest came off a feed from Crivello from behind the net and brought the Bison to within two goals at 4-2.

In the third, Foster broke in alone on Decker and wristed the puck into the net 21 seconds in, and Virgili's third goal at 11:48 knotted the game at four.
