Filip Virgili recorded his first collegiate hat trick in Nichols College's 4-4 tie with Saint Michael's College Saturday evening in non-conference men's ice hockey action at Levy Rink.

Senior Nic Hermary potted his second and third goals of the season for the Purple Knights (3-7-2), who led 4-1 late in the second period and outshot the Bison 31-30. Junior Tim Decker turned aside 26 shots to move to 3-2-1.
Saint Michael's led 2-0 after 20 minutes of play before Virgili banged home his first goal of the season 1:53 into the second period. His second of the contest came off a feed from Crivello from behind the net and brought the Bison to within two goals at 4-2.
In the third, Foster broke in alone on Decker and wristed the puck into the net 21 seconds in, and Virgili's third goal at 11:48 knotted the game at four.
Three things you need to know...
-Tonight's game marked the seventh all-time meeting between Saint Michael's College and Nichols College, and first since January 2, 2009. The Purple Knights lead the series, 4-2-1.
-Seniors

Ian Spencer, along with junior
Hogan Davidson and freshman
Curtis Carlson, all collected an assist on the day.
-The contest was the first overtime game of the season for the Bison.
