Jacob Duffrene rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns in Nichols College's 39-29 win over Curry College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Vendetti Field.

Duffrene averaged 9.1 yards per carry and his three scores places him in a tie for the second-most in one game in school history. Freshman
Hunter Ferreira, meanwhile, caught six passes for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns (21, 19) as Nichols finished its season at 5-5 (3-3 CCC).

NC junior quarterback
Michael Pina threw for 237 and a pair of touchdowns, giving him 15 on the season and tying him with Sean Smith-Vaugh for the fourth-highest single-season mark at Nichols. He connected with five different receivers on the afternoon as Nichols outgained the Colonels 417-327 – including 180-60 on the ground.

Junior captain
Michael Spraulding anchored the defense as he collected a game-high 14 tackles (five solo). Sophomore
Derek Rousso recorded his first collegiate interception and finished with four tackles while freshman
Joe Cox collected 10 tackles and also forced a fumble. Senior captain
McCoy Scott notched two tackles for loss and closed his career with an eight-tackle effort.

Curry (3-7, 1-5 CC) signal caller Nick Juvelier completed 32-of-62 for 267 yards and two touchdowns, and also led the ground attack with 67 yards. Junior Nick Villanueva caught 14 passes for 132 yards and two scores.

Three things you need to know...
            -Duffrene's nine rushing touchdowns in 2018 ties him for the sixth-highest mark in program history. Meanwhile, his 794 yards this season is the 10th best mark while his 1,267 career rushing yards places him No. 9 all-time.
            -Ferreira's eight touchdowns this season put him in a tie for No. 4 all-time in single-season TD receptions.
            -Today's contest marked the 60th all-time meeting between Nichols and Curry. The Bison have won two of the last three meetings and lead the series, 32-28.
