The Nichols College men's soccer program defeated Fitchburg State 3-2 Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at Elliot Field in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

The Falcons (4-5-0) opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a goal from senior Marckdonard Bastien. Exactly one minute later at 24:18, sophomore Ali Ali put the Bison (7-3-1) on the board with his fourth goal of the season. Roughly three minutes later, the scoring frenzy continued as freshman Evan Lemoine collected a ball from junior Jonathan Ingram to give Nichols the 2-1 advantage going into the second half.

In the 47th minute, the Falcons struck back to tie the game at two when freshman John Javaloyes was able to beat junior goaltender Juan Carlos De La Cruz. Nichols freshman Ryan Mangan answered back just 21 seconds later to give the Bison the 3-2 lead.
 
Three things you need to know…
-With today's win, De La Cruz improves to 2-0-0 on the year.
-The Bison outshot the Falcons 20-4.
-Today's match marked the 25th all-time meeting between the two programs. The Bison have now won the last two and improve to 12-9-4 all-time.
