PAXTON, Mass. – Sophomore 
Tony Martignolia (Santa Rosa, Calif.) scored three touchdowns to lift the Nichols College football team to a 28-21 win at Anna Maria College in non-conference football action at AMCAT Field Friday night.
 
Martignoli rushed for a pair of scores (2,1) and also completed 35-of-42 pass attempts for 263 yards and one score. He hooked up with freshman 
Jean Saint-Vil (Everett, Mass.) for a five-yard touchdown to open the scoring as the Bison moved to 2-0 for the first time since the 2000 campaign.
 
Sophomore 
Jacob Duffrene (Boston, Mass.) scored from 15 yards out for Nichols – his third score of the season – to cap a six-play, 78-yard drive in the third and put the Bison ahead for good at 21-14. He finished the night with 46 yards rushing while freshman 
Eric Mooney (Stoneham, Mass.) caught a game-high 10 passes for 61 yards.
 
Defensively, senior captain 
Brett McEvoy (Wrentham, Mass.) racked up a game-high 10 tackles (five solo) and recovered a fumble caused by senior 
James McGuigan (Charlton, Mass.). Nichols outgained the AMCats 330-247 on the evening.
 
Junior Joseph D'onofrio (Everett, Mass.) led Anna Maria with 144 rushing yards and one score. Senior Trai Weaver (Waterbury, Conn.) caught six passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns (31,6).
 
All-Time Series
Tonight's contest marks the third all-time meeting between Anna Maria College and Nichols College. With the win, the Bison improve to 3-0 lifetime against the AMCats.
