Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bison make it three-straight, blank Lions

DUDLEY, Mass. – Three different players recorded a goal to help lead the Nichols College men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene College on Friday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Vendetti Field in Dudley, Mass.

Senior Paul Sickinger (Tyngsboro, Mass.) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 11th minute of action as he took a cross from sophomore Jonathan Ingram (Belchertown, Mass.) and headed it into the top left corner of the net for the 1-0 lead. Nearly 18 minutes later, after a foul on the Lions, junior John Lydon (Suffield, Conn.) took the free kick from near midfield and lofted it into the box. Junior Gregory Giglio (Deer Park, N.Y.) headed the ball back across the goal to a waiting Ali Ali (West Springfield, Mass.), who buried the ball in the back of the net to make it a 2-0 game.

Freshman Ethan Cayer (Waterville, Maine) netted his first collegiate goal in the 86th minute as he took a flick from Chris Noga (Belchertown, Mass.) down the right side and eventually beat the keeper one-on-one to give the game its final score of 3-0.

The Bison held a 27-6 edge in shots in the game and also led in corner kicks, 8-1.

Junior Patrick Porpora (Westminster, Mass.) earned the victory while stopping three shots in 74:59 of action. Sophomore Zach Suhoza (Clearwater, Fla.) wrapped the final 15:01 and did not face a shot. Eastern Nazarene's Victor Mendoza (Cathedral, Calif.) suffered the setback while stopping nine shots on the night.

Offensively, the Lions were led by two shots apiece from Joao Costa (Framingham, Mass.) and Nabil Chamoun (Walpole, Mass.).
