NEWTON, Mass. – Freshman Carlee Tolley (Chatam, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal at 22:56 of the first half to lift the Nichols College field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Mount Ida College Friday afternoon in non-conference action at Alumni Field.
 
Sophomore Brooke Misbach (Guilford, Conn.) stopped three shots to earn the shutout for the Bison and give first-year head coach Jenn Townsend her first win as a collegiate head coach. Townsend was a member of the NC field hockey program from 2011-14.
 
All-Time Series
Today's game marked the fourth all-time meeting between Nichols College and Mount Ida College. The Bison now lead the series, 4-0.
