Senior Brooke Marion (South Hadley, Mass.) scored six goals in her final collegiate game as the Bison knocked off the Fighting Scots for the first time in program history; they entered the contest 0-15 lifetime against their conference foes. Sophomore Kirsten Sullivan (Arlington, Mass.) also scored twice for Nichols, which picked up its first home of the season for head coach Melissa Rausch.

Senior Caroline Walton (Irvine, Calif.) led the Fighting Scots with four goals while classmate MC Aston (Greenwich, N.Y.) potted three to go along with a pair of assists. The Fighting Scots outshot the Bison 31-25 but were 0-for-3 on free-position shots, compared to 7-of-10 for Nichols.

The Bison led 4-0 early behind three-straight goals from O'Connell to open the contest, and carried an 8-5 lead into halftime. Marion struck three for Nichols in the first half as well while Aston had two for Gordon.

Following a goal by Marion to open the second-half scoring, Gordon ripped off seven unanswered goals – highlighted by four from Walton – to move in front 11-9 midway through the stanza. Later, the Bison found themselves trailing by one with less than 90 seconds remaining, but Sullivan connected for her 30th tally of the season with 1:11 to go to force overtime.

In the extra session, O'Connell received a free position attempt from straight away and beat GC freshman goalie Melanie Dwyer (Reading, Mass.) with a low shot with 1:01 to go in the first OT.

Junior Mellissa LaFleur (Chicopee, Mass.) led Nichols with four ground balls and also tied Marion for the team lead in draw controls with three. Freshman Emily Eagan (Hingham, Mass.) made 10 saves to earn the victory. Dwyer, meanwhile, was credited with four saves.
