Bison explode for 16 runs in spring break finale win over Susquehanna

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - The Nichols College baseball team completed their Florida trip with a 16-4 win over Susquehanna in non-conference action at South County Regional Park.
 
The Bison exploded for a season-high 21 hits and their highest run total of the year – led by senior Tim Ford (Stafford Springs, Conn.) who finished the game 6-for-6 with four RBI's and two runs. Each Bison starter had at least one hit in the game.
 
Freshman Christian Naccari (Ossining, N.Y.) finished the game with three hits and five RBI's – including a bases clearing double to cap the scoring in the ninth inning.
 
The Seahawks were led by senior Cory Fallon (Garden City, N.Y.) who had half of the team's four hits on the day and drove in three runs. Junior Zach Leone (Pelham, N.Y.) scored a pair of runs.
 
Junior StigErik McElhinney (Dracut, Mass.) allowed three runs in the first inning but settled down to toss seven innings and earn his first win of the year. Freshman Steven Lockwood (Paramus, N.J.) pitched the final two frames – allowing just one run on one hit while walking one.
 
Sophomore Nathan Madden (Huntington Beach, Calif.) took the loss after allowing four runs (all earned) on nine hits through 3.2 innings of work.
 
All-Time Series
This was the first meeting all-time between the Bison and the Seahawks with Nichols now leading the all-time series at, 1-0.
