Keene St. hands Bison first loss of the season, 12-10

DAVENPORT, Fla. – Senior Paul Tessier (Mirror Lake,  N.H.) picked up his second-consecutive hat trick as the Nichols College men's lacrosse team fell to Keene State, 12-10, in non-conference action Monday afternoon at Northeast Regional Park.
 
Tessier scored with 9:20 left in the game to tie it up 9-9 before the Owls rattled off three of the final four goals of the game to defeat the Bison for the second-consecutive season in Florida.
 
Fifth-year student Reece O'Connor (North Grafton, Mass.), junior captain MacKenzie Martin (Merrimack, N.H.), and sophomore Brayden Carroll (Shrewsbury, Mass.) had a goal and a pair of assists apiece while senior Tyler Sikich (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) had two goals.
 
Keene State was led by junior Hunter Arnold (Boxborough, Mass.) – who had five goals and an assist – and senior Tyler Reilly (Grafton, Mass.) who scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others.
 
The Owls doubled-up the Bison in shots, 32-16 – including 12-4 in the final quarter. Tessier had a team-high six shots to lead Nichols while Arnold had a game-high 16 shots for the Owls.
 
The game consisted of five ties and six lead changes.
 
Sophomore Brian McKinley (Nashua, N.H.) was sensational in net for the Bison – stopping a season-high 20 shots. Junior Mathew Howe (Bedford, N.H.) made six saves in the win.
 
All-Time Series
The Bison fell to the Owls for the second-consecutive year in Orlando, Florida – and those are the only two meetings between the two teams all-time.
