FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Nichols College softball team scored seven runs in the first inning and rolled to an 11-3 win over Edgewood College Friday afternoon in non-conference action at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic at the CenturyLink Sports Complex.

Junior Kendall Meehan (Danvers, Mass.) drove in two runs and held the Eagles to seven hits and three runs over five innings in the circle. She walked two and struck out three.

Offensively, the Bison pounded out 13 hits - including three off the bat of sophomore Callie Andrews (Southbridge, Mass.) and two from junior Kasey Ayer (Niantic, Conn.). Freshman Cara Mayhew (Brooklyn, Conn.) recorded the first two hits of her collegiate career.
