Box Score EVERETT, Mass. – Junior defensemen
Ian Spencer and
Ben Campbell each scored goals to propel the Nichols College men's ice hockey team to a 2-0 win over Wentworth in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at Allied Veterans Rink.
Spencer netted his second of the season just 1:30 into the contest with assists going to junior
Matthew Menta and sophomore
J.B. Baker. In the third, Campbell doubled the NC lead with his second marker of the campaign at 3:31. Junior
T.J. Roche and sophomore
Hogan Davidson were credited with the assists.
Senior
Chris Deming added an empty-netter with less than one minute remaining in the third to seal the win.
That was all the support senior goalie
Colin Brennan needed as he turned aside all 23 shots he faced to record his fourth win of the season and second shutout. Ryan Hubbard made 17 saves for the Leopards.
All-Time Series
Tonight's contest marks the 41st all-time meeting between Nichols College and Wentworth. Nichols is 3-0-1 in the last three and has won nine of the last 11 to grab a 21-18-2 lead in the series.
