SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman
Xavier Hackett (Stoughton, Mass.) scored his first collegiate touchdown in Nichols College's 55-14 loss at Western New England University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Football action Saturday afternoon at Golden Bear Stadium.
Junior
Jacob Duffrene (Boston, Mass.) also scored in the season finale for the Bison. Senior linebacker and captain
Brett McEvoy (Wrentham, Mass.) notched nine tackles to finish the season with 107 and his career with a program-record 385.
The Golden Bears compiled 475 yards of total offense and kept the Bison off the scoreboard until early in the fourth when Duffrene romped in from six-yards out. Later in the quarter, Hackett broke off a 43-yard touchdown run.
Sophomore
Tony Martignoli (Santa Rosa, Calif.) caught four passes for a team-leading 73 yards. Defensively, senior
Zackary Gorczynski (Sutton, Mass.) led the Bison with 11 tackles in his final collegiate game.

Today's contest marked the 34th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Western New England University. The Golden Bears have now won the last 11 meetings and lead the series, 19-15.
