Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Nichols blanks Framingham State, 3-0

DUDLEY, Mass. – Freshman Lizz McKinnon (Quincy, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal in Nichols College's 3-0 win over Framingham State University Thursday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action at Vendetti Field.

Sophomore Leundra Marsh (Palmer, Mass.) and freshman Carlee Tolley (Chatham, Mass.) also scored for the Bison, who have won three of their last four games and now boast their highest win total since 2012, when they advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship. Their five shutouts in 2017 is also their highest total in five seasons.

Marsh scored the only goal of the first half when she knocked a pass from sophomore Erin Kelley (Dighton, Mass.) past FSU junior goalie Haley Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) at 21:08. The Bison held a 9-1 edge in shots through the first 35 minutes of action.

Tolley's team-leading sixth goal less than three minutes into the second half doubled the NC lead. McKinnon's tally off a feed from Tolley at 41:05 capped the scoring.

Sophomore Brooke Misbach (Guilford, Conn.) earned her fourth shutout of the season for NC. She currently leads the CCC in saves and is second in shutouts. Duggan made six saves for the Rams.

All-Time Series
Today's contest marked the 17th all-time meeting between Framingham State and Nichols College. The win extends the Bison's win streak against the Rams to six and they now lead the series, 11-3-3.
