BOSTON, Mass. – Junior netminder
Colin Brennan (Chester, N.J.) made 32 saves in Nichols College's 3-0 loss to No.10 Buffalo State in the championship game of the inaugural Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational Saturday night at Warrior Ice Arena.
Â
Brennan – who allowed one goal on the night – was at his best in the second period, stopping all 13 shots he faced as he moved to 8-3-2 on the season. Sophomore
T.J. Roche (Northport, N.Y.) was named the team's Most Valuable Player of the Tournament as he registered three points (2-1-3) in a win over Stonehill in the semifinals on Friday night.
Â
Senior Jake Rosen (East Amherst, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal 7:05 into the contest, and senior Anthony Beaumont (Lester, Pa.) and junior Zach Nieminen (Aax, Ontario) added empty net goals late in the third period.
Â
Rosen potted his fifth goal of the season when he tapped in a pass from the left corner off the stick of Nieminen. That was all the Bengals needed as senior netminder Mike DeLaVergne (Pawling, N.Y.) stopped all 28 shots he faced to record his 10th win of the season.
