Anna McDaniel (Taunton, Mass.) scored a career-high 16 points in Nichols College's 81-39 loss to Salve Regina University Tuesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball action Tuesday night at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Allison Cerrato (Rockland, Mass.) dropped in nine points for the Bison, who shot 26 percent (14-of-55) and were outrebounded 51-23. Salve Regina – which shot 51 percent (30-of-59) – was led by freshman Torie Scorpio (Cranston, R.I.) netted a career-high 25 points and also snared 11 rebounds while playing all 40 minutes.

Nichols did not score its first field goal until the 2:24 mark of the first quarter and trailed 30-8 after one as Scorpio scored nine points. The Bison outscored the Seahawks 17-9 in the second quarter to get back into the game by halftime (39-25). McDaniel scored 14 of the Bison's 17 points in the frame.

The Seahawks scored 21 of the first 25 points in the third quarter to grab a commanding 64-35 lead after three before outscoring the Bison 17-4 in the fourth quarter.

Junior Mary Eden (South Kingston, R.I.) posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
