WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman
J'ena Baker (Rockledge, Fla.) recorded a total of 13 kills for the Nichols College volleyball program, which suffered a pair of 3-0 losses to non-conference foes WPI and Becker Saturday at the Worcester City Tournament at the Sports & Rec Center.

For her efforts, Baker was named to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the tournament.

Baker recorded seven kills and sophomore
Moriah Burns (Holland, Mass.) collected 13 digs for the Bison, who lost 25-7, 25-15, and 25-14.

Freshman
Sabrina Boermeester (Billerica, Mass.) notched three kills while freshman
Jayla Simmons (Rockledge, Fla.) picked up four digs.

Senior MaddyWerth (Bedford, Mass.), junior Melissa Daigle (Norfolk, Mass.), and freshman Sandra Durate (Valencia, Calif.) each posted seven kills for the Engineers, who hit .487 for the match.

Senior
Monica Pucko (Gardner, Mass.) registered seven kills and Baker collected six kills and 13 digs for Nichols while Burns posted 10 assists. The Bison lost game one 27-25, game two 25-20, and game three 25-15.

Sophomore Kayla Dupree (North Bergen, N.J.) led the Hawks with nine kills while both senior Marissa Turner (Coventry, R.I.) and freshman Micaela Rice (Charlton, Mass.) had eight.

The Bison hit .308 in the first match but were clipped in a tie breaker. They struggled in the second set, hitting just .037, and the Hawks swung at a .324 clip in the third and final set to secure the victory.

This morning's matches were the first in program history for the Bison, who now trail the all-time series with both the Engineers & Hawks, 1-0.
