Endicott blanks Nichols, 37-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Nichols College football team was defeated by Endicott College 37-0 in New England Football Conference (NEFC) action Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
 
Nichols freshman quarterback Chris Mullins (Centreville, Va.) threw for 206 yards and freshman Joshua Pierre-Charles (Millis, Mass.) rushed for a team-high 47 yards on eight carries (5.9 ypc). Junior Mike Abbruzzese (Natick, Mass.) hauled in four receptions for a team-high 50 yards while sophomore Princewell Iwejuo (Boston, Mass.) caught a team-high seven passes.
 
Defensively, the Bison were led by senior captain Matthew McEvilly (Clinton, Mass.), who collected 12 tackles (six solo). Freshman Christopher Lawrence (Newport, N.H.) was second on the tam with eight tackles (four solo).
 
Sophomore Michael Scherer (Middletown, Conn.) threw two touchdown passes for the Gulls, who also saw junior Lavante Wiggins (Pittsfield, Mass.) rush for 51 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Chris Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.) caught three passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
 
Endicott outgained Nichols 368-278 – including 197-70 on the ground.
 
All-Time Series
Today's contest marked the 14th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Endicott College. The Gulls have won eight in a row against the Bison and lead the series, 12-2.
