DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Curry in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at Vendetti Field.
Â
Neither team really mustered up a lot of offense but the Colonels held the edge in the shot column 9-6 including 5-3 in the second half.
Â
After a scoreless first half, it did not take long for Curry to get on the board in the second half. At 45:50 senior Kelly Parker (Branford, Conn.) took a cross from classmate Kaitlyn Lima (New Bedford, Mass.) and put it in the back of the net for the eventual game-winning goal.
Â
Junior
Taylor Souza (New Bedford, Mass.) paced the Bison with four of the team's six shots while junior
Danielle Barry (Springfield, Mass.) perhaps had the best opportunity for the Bison to get on the board in the game. At 59:31, Barry broke free of the defense and attempted to chip the ball over the goaltender but the ball trickled just wide.
Â
Sophomore
Brooke Downey (Middleboro, Mass.) made four saves in the loss while senior Morgan Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) took the win after stopping three shots.
Â
All-Time Series
The Colonels have taken the last two games in the series but the Bison still hold the edge in the all-time series at 14-9-1.

Quotes
"I think it was a pretty even game and it was very back and forth to begin with. Then we started to take a little bit of control. There were times where the momentum shifted their way and times it shifted our way. We created a lot but just couldn't get our numbers in the final third. Once again, it is another 50/50 match that we could have potentially taken but I'm staying optimistic. It sucks to be losing but we have to think about how the progress from last season is tremendous. My vision for this program is going to come true." – Nichols head coach
Sonia Basma
Â
"Our key forwards are a little banged up so to ask them to be putting balls into the back of the net every game is tough. We adjust as a team and once again we didn't let this be a 5-0 blowout, but unfortunately it was a loss." – Basma on the play of her team despite injuries
