WENHAM, Mass. – The Nichols College men's soccer team fell 5-1 to Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at The Quad.

The Fighting Scots rattled off the first five goals of the game before the Bison were finally able to get on the scoreboard at 80:36.

Senior Caleb Cole (Coatesville, Pa.) potted a pair of goals while the Cochran brothers scored two others to pace the Fighting Scots on the afternoon.

Cole scored the first goal of the game at 17:08 on a penalty shot before junior Josh Cochran (Bellville, Ohio) headed in a goal at 32:55 on an assist from Cole to make the score 2-0. Cochran assisted on Cole's second goal of the game 42 seconds into the second half to lead the Bison by three.

Senior captain
Tyler Brenner (Stuart, Fla.) scored the only Bison goal of the afternoon at 80:36 on a shot to the bottom left corner of the net for his first goal of the season.

The Fighting Scots outshot the Bison on the afternoon 17-10 including 11-5 in the first half while the Bison held the lead in corner kicks, 8-2.

Cole had a game-high seven shots while the Bison had five student-athletes with two shots. Sophomore
Patrick Porpora (Westminster, Mass.) took the loss after making three saves. Senior Josh Spoonhour (Greencastle, Pa.) earned the win after playing the first 85:39 of the game before freshman Caleb Chang (North Point, Hong Kong) finished out the game with no saves.
