NEWPORT, R.I. – The Nichols College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Salve Regina in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at Reynolds Field.

The Bison were outshot in the game 23-7 – including 18-2 in the first half. Junior
Ashley Cibotti (Norton, Mass.) complied a team-best four shots including all three of Nichols' shots on goal.

Junior Courtney Bouchard (Middleton, Mass.) provided the only goal of the afternoon at 42:04 when she banked if off the cross bar for her first goal of the season. Freshman Ella Rath (Pawcatuck, Conn.) produced a game-high seven shots while sophomore Abby McMackin (Walpole, Mass.) chipped in with five shots.

Brooke Downey (Middleboro, Mass.) followed up her career-best performance from the last time out with a 13 save performance in the conference opener and falls to 0-4-0 on the year.

Sophomore Carly Pala (Milford, Conn.) took the shutout win after stopping three shots.
