WENHAM, Mass. – The Nichols College softball team was swept by Gordon College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Gordon Softball Field.

Game One: Gordon 3, Nichols 2
The Fighting Scots scored three first-inning runs and held on to defeat the Bison, 3-2.

Freshman
Zoe Chevrette (Wilbraham, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with an RBI while senior starting pitcher
Haley Fountain (Warren, Mass.) plated the other Nichols Run. Fountain allowed 10 hits and three runs with two walks and four strikeouts in six innings in the circle.

Senior Marissa Meenan (Wayne, Pa.), junior Emily Burkhart (Manheim, Pa.), and freshman Kaelie Mercado (Granada Hills, Calif.) each drove in a run for Gordon in the opening frame. Sophomore Emily Kline (Park Ridge, N.J.) held the Bison to five hits over seven innings to earn her ninth win of the season.

Game Two: Gordon 8, Nichols 7
Chevrette and sophomore
Kendall Meehan (Danvers, Mass.) each drove in two runs for the Bison while Meenan plated three runs for the Fighting Scots.

The Bison scored three times in the sixth to take a 7-6 lead, sparked by a two-run single from Chevrette. Gordon answered with a pair in its half of the frame to regain the lead as Kline and junior Carleigh Petersen (North Hills, Calif.) each drove in runs.

Kline came on in relief and tossed the final four innings to pick up her second win of the afternoon. She gave up two hits and three runs (two earned) with three strikeouts. Junior
Meghan Sears (Tewksbury, Mass.) fell to 5-7 with the loss as she was tagged for 15 hits and eight runs (five earned) with a walk and two K's.

Today's games marked the 44th and 45th all-time meetings between Gordon College and Nichols College. The losses snap the Bison's two-game winning streak, but they continue to lead the series, 29-15.
