Today's game marked the 24th al-time meeting between Nichols College and the University of New England. The Bison have lost their last eight to the Nor'easters but continue to lead the all-time series, 13-10.
 
Quick Synopsis
Senior Reece O'Connor (North Grafton, Mass.) recorded a goal and two assists in Nichols College's 12-4 loss at the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse action at the Big Blue Turf.
 
Sophomore Tom Luthrell (Greenbrae, Calif.) and freshman Mitch Mullin (Cumberland, Maine) each scored three goals for the Nor'easters while junior Dan Auger (Nashua, N.H.) went for two goals and two helpers.
 
Nichols trailed 6-3 entering the fourth before being outscored 5-1 over the final 15 minutes.
 
Inside the Game
-The Nor'easters outshot Nichols 51-23 – including 17-3 in the first quarter.
-UNE was 18-for-19 on clears (95 percent).
 
On the Bison
-Senior Brian Hancock (Groton, Mass.) an Anthony Verville (Portland, Maine), along with sophomore MacKenzie Martin (Merrimack, N.H.), each scored goals.
-Junior Tyler Sikich (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) led all field student-athletes five ground balls.
-Freshman Matt O'Connell (Woburn, Mass.) caused two turnovers.
 
About the Opponent
-Junior Andrew Curro (Niskayuna, N.Y.) and freshman Alex Zadworny (Florence, Mass.) each collected a goal and an assist.
-Senior John Dusel (Wilbraham, Mass.) and junior David Pearson (Scarborough, Maine) combined to make eight saves; each played 30 minutes with Dusel starting and picking up the win.
