NAPLES, Fla. – Sophomore
Kendall Meehan (Danvers, Mass.) had an RBI double in Nichols College's 3-1 loss to the University of Saint Joseph in non-conference softball action Sunday afternoon at North Collier Regional Park.
The Bison left the bases loaded in the top of the first following an inning ending double play. In the bottom of the frame, the Blue Jays first three batters recorded a double, an RBI single, and an RBI triple to give them a 2-0 lead. A wild pitch later in the frame pushed the lead to 3-0.
Nichols got one back in the third when junior
Christina Barrows (Carver, Mass.) laced a one-out single and scored on Meehan's double to the fence in center.
Junior
Meghan Sears (Tewksbury, Mass.) suffered the loss to fall to 0-3 on the season. She surrendered five hits and three runs with a walk and two strikeouts in four innings of work.
The Bison (2-4) play Pitt-Bradford (9:00 a.m.) and Edgewood (11:00 a.m.) on Tuesday at CenturyLink Sports Park.
