Tonight's meeting marked the 66th all-time meeting between Nichols and Western New England. The Golden Bears snapped a nine-game unbeaten streak against the Bison with the win (1-7-2) and moved to 31-29-6 all-time against NC.

1 – Western New England junior Dane Genord (Grand Blanc, Mich.) – scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner on the power play late in the first period
2 – Western New England freshman Kevin Gollmer (Flourtown, Pa.) – recorded 43 saves, 16 of which came in the third period
3 – Western New England freshman Steve Beck (Milton, N.Y.) – potted two goals

Genord and Beck each scored two goals and Gollmer turned aside 43 shots as the Golden Bears earned their first Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast win of the season with a 4-1 triumph over the Bison. Junior Joey Quintana (East Setauket, N.Y.) scored the lone goal for Nichols.

Genord's power play goal with 59 seconds remaining in the first period stood as the game-winner. He later extended WNE's lead to 3-1 with his seventh of the season at 4:22 of the second period.
