BOSTON, Mass. – The Nichols College women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Wentworth in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at Sweeney Field.

Coming off of a game in which the Bison produced a season-high 26 shots, Nichols was held to just five shots (two shots on goal) against the Leopards who fired of 27 shots for the game – including 14 in the first half.

Wentworth got on the board at 28:07 when senior Morgan Miller (Schenectady, N.Y.) headed in the corner kick from junior Emily Richard (Fremont, N.H.) for her fourth goal of the season. The Leopards carried a 1-0 lead into the half.

Richard took matters into her own hands in the second half as she scored both goals for the Leopards over the final 45 minutes to clinch the 3-0 win for Wentworth – who sits atop the CCC with UNE.

The Leopards have still yet to yield a goal in conference-play – outscoring their opponents 13-0 in five games. The Bison have five different student-athletes make up their five shots including juniors
Taylor Souza (New Bedford, Mass.),
Ashley Cibotti (Norton, Mass.), and
Deandra Flynn (Pawtucket, R.I.) along with senior captain
Brooke Maher (North Attleboro, Mass.) and freshman
Kaylin Goncalves (Norwood, Mass.).

Wentworth was paced by Richard with a game-high six shots while Miller had four shots and eight other student-athletes chipped in with two shots.

Sophomore
Brooke Downey (Middleboro, Mass.) made 12 stops in the loss while sophomore Christie Fleming (Braintree, Mass.) made two saves in her second shutout of the season.

The Bison have now dropped the last five meetings with the Leopards and nine of the last 10. Wentworth leads the all-time series at 12-7-2.
