Bison down Rams in overtime, 4-3

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Freshman Erin Kelley (Dighton, Mass.) scored her fifth goal of the season early in overtime to lift the Nichols College field hockey team to a 4-3 triumph at Framingham State University Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at Maple Street Field.

Junior Brianna Kilborn (North Brookfield, Mass.), along with freshmen Leundra Marsh (Palmer, Mass.) and Lauren LeMay (Tyngsborough, Mass.), also scored for the Bison, who outshot the Rams 21-12 and recovered to score the win despite allowing the tying goal with 90 seconds remaining in regulation.

Lemay's third goal of the season opened the scoring 52 seconds into the contest. A pair of goals from the Rams in a span of 41 seconds gave the home team a 2-1 lead heading to halftime. Marsh's first collegiate goal at 49:58 tied the game at two, and LeMay's rebound goal less than two minutes later gave her team a 3-2 lead.

In the extra session, freshman MacKenzie McDonald (Pembroke, Mass.) set up Kilborn's winner, which snapped the Bison's losing skid. Freshman Brooke Misbach (Guilford, Conn.) recorded six saves to earn her second win of the season.

All-Time Series
Today's contest marked the 16th all-time meeting between Framingham State and Nichols College. The win extends the Bison's win streak against the Rams to five and they now lead the series, 10-3-3.
