The Wildcats ran their win streak over the Bison to five and now lead the all-time series, 6-4.
 
Three Stars of the Game
1) JWU Sophomore Ashley Thompson (Bellingham, Mass.) – recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds; also notched three steals and two blocks
2) JWU Junior Bobbie Whitehead (Brooklyn, N.Y.) – scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds
3) Nichols sophomore Allison Cerrato (Rockland, Mass.) – filled the stat sheet with 12 points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes
 
Quick Synopsis
Thompson and Whitehead combined for 36 points and 19 rebounds as the Wildcats overcame a sluggish start and defeated the Bison 70-66. Nichols shot 52 percent in the first half (13-of-25) and led 46-34 behind 10 points from senior captain Jessica Kelliher (Marshfield, Mass.). Whitehead scored 12 of her 19 points over the final 20 minutes.
 
Key Stat of the Game
The Wildcats outscored the Bison 36-20 over the final 20 minutes of the contest to turn 14-point halftime deficit into a four-point win.
 
Turning Point
The Wildcats opened the fourth quarter on an 11-0 run to move in front 62-55 with 4:11 left in regulation. Thompson sparked the run with six points – including a three-point play at 6:31 which gave JWU its first lead of the second half.
 
Quick Hits
-Junior Taylor Daniels (Dudley, Mass.) led the Bison with 16 points in 37 minutes.
-The two schools combined to shoot 64 free throws – 37 for the Wildcats and 27 for the Bison.
-Nichols shot 39 percent from the field (20-of-52) – including 63 percent from downtown (5-of-8). It also made 78 percent of its free throws (21-of-27).
-The Wildcats shot 38 percent (21-of-55) but struggled from behind the arc, making just three of their 18 attempts (17 percent).
-Kelliher finished with 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
-Making her Nichols debut, freshman Amy Assad (Millis, Mass.) registered nine points and eight rebounds in 19 minutes.
