FORT MYERS, Fla. – Freshman
Courtney Manarky (Amston, Conn.) drove in her third run of the season in Nichols College's 10-2 loss to Geneva College Friday afternoon in non-conference softball action at the Lee County Sports Complex.
The Bison trailed 8-0 after two innings before pushing across two in the fifth. Manarky plated sophomore
Christina Barrows (Carver, Mass.) with a single to right, then got herself into a rundown on the next pitch, which allowed freshman
Kendall Meehan (Danvers, Mass.) to scamper home from third with the second run.
Sophomore
Meghan Sears (Tewksbury, Mass.) got the start for Nichols and 11 hits and 10 runs (seven earned) in four-plus innings of work. She walked two and fanned one.
Nichols plays Wooster at 9 a.m. and Ohio Wesleyan at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Lee County Sports Complex.
