In the third, Schwartz crashed the net and knocked a loose puck out of the air and into the net for his first collegiate goal to give NC its three-goal lead back at 4-1. Quotes"The first goal is always the best one. It was a great job by Roche and
Sean Swansen to get it to the net. I took a little baseball swing at it and it went it. It was awesome. I've been working hard on the ice and in the gym waiting for my chance. I've never complained. Once I got in, I felt great. It was amazing." – Nichols freshman
Evan SchwartzÂ
"Becker worked hard and came to play for 60 minutes. I thought we took our foot off the gas there in the second. The big message to the guys after the game was that we're going to go through some bumps and some adversity throughout the season. We took a five-minute major late in the third and it was 5-on-3 for a bit. We bent but we didn't break. Wins aren't always going to be pretty and they're not always going to be blowouts. You have to find a way to win the greasy ones and we did. They stayed together ad picked each other up through the mistakes. At the end of the day, they came together and found a way to win. We'll take it and move on." – Nichols head coach
Parker Burgess.
