Sean Swansen (Salem, N.H.) recorded his first collegiate hat trick in Nichols College's 9-5 win in Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast action Friday evening at Levy Rink.

Paul Prescott (Oakdale, Minn.) posted a four-point night (1-3-4) for the Bison, who won their third-straight to move to 9-2-2 on the season. Senior

Frank Butler (East Haven, Conn.), each picked up a goal and two assists while both senior
Kyle Shapiro (Ambler, Pa.) and junior
Sean Fleming (Easthampton, N.J.) dished out three assists.
Junior
Patrick Salkind (Springfield, Va.) made his second start of the season between the pipes and stopped 33 shots to earn his second win of the season. He was at his best in the opening period, where he stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced. Freshman
Colin Brennan (Chester, N.J.) played the final 11:52 of the contest and made three saves.
Nichols capitalized on its first four power play opportunities and finished the night 4-for-8 with the man advantage. The Greyhounds (6-9-0) made good on two of their three PP chances as freshman Matt Cowles (Farmington, Conn.) struck twice in a span of 39 seconds in the second period. Junior Brandon Bete (Greenfield, Mass.) registered three points (1-2-3) for Assumption.
Nichols ripped off four goals in a span of 8:09 in the first to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 lead as Beasley, Jackson, Butler, and sophomore
Joey Quintana (East Setauket, N.Y.) tickled the twine. Junior netminder Chris Hemhauser (Old Saybrook, Conn.) surrendered three goals on eight shots and was replaced by classmate Tyler Stillings (Wilmington, Mass.) 14:05 into the stanza, which saw the Greyhounds outshoot the Bison 18-9.
Assumption went on a two-man advantage for 55 seconds just past the midway point of the second, which is when Cowles buried his second and third goals of the season to make it a 4-3 game. Nichols responded with five goals in the final 7:07 of the period to grab a 9-3 lead. Swansen scored three of the goals while Butler and Prescott also filled the net.
The Greyhounds potted a pair of goals in the third at 8:24 and 19:47, respectively, to close the scoring. Stillings recorded five saves before he was replaced by freshman Mario Pizzeri (Shrewsbury, Mass.), who notched 18 saves over the final 26:44 of the contest.
The Bison host SUNY Cortland Tuesday at 3 p.m. Assumption heads to Rhode Island to play an exhibition against URI Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. before playing at Southern New Hampshire Saturday, January 17 at 7:30 p.m.
