QUINCY, Mass. – Senior captain Amber Litwinko (Berlin, Conn.) dropped in 22 points in Nichols College's 76-66 loss at Eastern Nazarene Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Basketball action.

Senior captain Alexis Wegrzynek (Wilbraham, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Nichols (4-11, 1-8 CCC). Sophomore Julia Zawacki (Waterford, Conn.) was the third Bison to reach double figures as she netted 10 points.

Sophomore Jasmine Mata (Santa Barbara, Calif.) came off the bench to score a team-high 22 points – including 12-of-15 from the line – while sophomore Mhiah Vickers (Westlake Village, Calif.) scored 19 points. Sophomore Courtney Houston (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and junior Jordan Grays (Elk Grove, Calif.) each tallied 13 points.

Nichols trailed 39-30 at the break as Vickers led all scorers with 13 points. The Lions shot 54 percent and forced 10 turnovers. Litwinko paced the Bison with 10 points.

The Bison opened up a three-point lead (54-51) with 8:27 remaining before ENC grabbed a 59-56 lead on a three by Mata with under six to go. A pair of free throws from Wegrzynek at 4:56 tied the game at 60 before the Lions ripped off a 9-0 to move in front 69-60 with 91 seconds on the clock. Vickers scored six of the nine ENC points.

Eastern Nazarene held a 42-39 edge on the glass, shot 40 percent for the game (21-of-52), and went to the line 39 times (27-of-39; 69 percent). The Bison shot 37 percent (23-of-63) and went 17-of-24 from the charity stripe (71 percent).

The Bison host Johnson & Wales (RI) Thursday night at 6 p.m. The Lions head to Beverly, Mass. for a 3 p.m. contest with Endicott on Saturday.
