Lindsey Rappazzo (Mashpee, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season in Nichols College's 3-1 loss to Thomas (ME) College Saturday afternoon in the season opener for both squads at Vendetti Field.

Freshman Abigail Dunn (Gardiner, Maine) potted he first collegiate goal at 59:22 to snap a 1-1 tie and put the Terriers ahead for good. Senior Nora Rauch (Shelburne Falls, Mass.) netted the insurance marker less than four minutes later as Thomas has now won back-to-back season-openers in Dudley.
Rappazzo opened the scoring at 6:11 when she collected a deflected shot from Orszulak and scored into the right side of the net. The Terriers knotted the score at one on sophomore Erica Blake's (Norridgewock, Maine) first of the season at 21:09. The play started on a penalty corner and the ball found Blake, who deflected the ball past Melanson.
The game remained deadlocked at one until Dunn's unassisted marker from in close put the visitors on top, 2-1, before Rauch closed the scoring.
Sophomore Abbie Charrier (Waldo, Maine) tallied 15 saves to earn the win. Thomas plays at Bridgewater State tomorrow at 1 p.m.
