HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Freshman Lindsay O'Connell (Danvers, Mass.) stopped 43 shots in her collegiate debut, a 1-0 loss to Castleton in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's East action Saturday evening at Levy Rink.

Junior Rachel Bombardier (Pittsford, Vt.) scored the only goal of the contest on the power-play 6:58 into the contest. She took a pass from classmate Taylor Steadman (Hartford, Vt.) and beat O'Connell for her second of the season. Sophomore Lisa Buratynski (Ajax, Ontario) picked up the second assist on the goal.

Junior Jess Cameron (Mt. Mellick, P.E.I.) made the lead stand up as she turned aside all 31 shots she faced en route to her first collegiate shutout.

Senior Grace Murphy (Montclair, Va.) led all student-athletes with nine shots on goal.

Nichols hosts New England College Friday at 6:40 p.m. Castleton travels to Plattsburgh State Tuesday for a 7 p.m. contest.
