Box Score DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College field hockey team was defeated by the University of New England 7-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at Vendetti Field.
Senior Erin Bibber (Charlton, Mass.) and sophomore Nicole Matarozzo (Wolfeboro, N.H.) each scored twice for the Nor'easters (8-5, 6-1 CCC), who also saw senior Hannah Warren (Harrison, Maine) record a goal and an assist. UNE outshot the Bison 30-4.
Bibber potted her 10th goal of the season 16:22 into the first half to put the Nor'easters in front 1-0. Fifteen minutes later, Lambert converted a feed from Warren off a play which started on a penalty corner to double their lead. The half closed with UNE holding a 14-2 edge in shots and a 4-0 edge in penalty corners.
UNE scored five times in the second half – including three times in the first 12:59 – to account for the final score. Matarozzo scored back-to-back goals at 47:09 and 52:29, respectively, while Bibber, Warren, and freshman Olivia Madore (Arundel, Maine) also found the back of the net.
Nor'easters sophomore Holly Smith (Peabody, Mass.) made three saves to earn her eighth win of the season. Sophomore
Katherine Cotton (Kennebunk, Maine) started in goal for Nichols and registered 12 saves. Senior
Emily Mercure (Milton, Vt.) played the final 17:27 in goal and recorded one save.

Avery Orszulak (Springfield, Mass.) led Nichols with three shots.
The Bison (2-11) head to Roger Williams Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest. UNE hosts Gordon Wednesday at 6 p.m.
