Sarah Whitestone (Dalton, Mass.) poured in a career-high 20 points in Nichols College's 61-49 loss at Johnson & Wales (RI) University Thursday evening in non-conference action at the Wildcat Center.

Alexis Wegrzynek (Wilbraham, Mass.) had three points and a game-high nine rebounds in the setback for the Bison, who fell to 8-7 on the season. Classmate
Amber Litwinko (Berlin, Conn.) recorded nine points, five boards, and two dimes.
Junior Natalie DiCocco (Media, Pa.) led the Wildcats (5-11) with 15 points, five rebounds and two steals while sophomore Savannah Kresge (Ellington, Conn.) tallied 12 points, two boards, two assists and two steals in the win. Junior Kaitlin Kenney (Branford, Conn.) added 11 points, a team-high six rebounds and four assists while junior D'Ana Rolle (Gardner, Mass.) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals for the Wildcats.
Johnson & Wales broke the game open early and raced out to a 13-2 lead on a layup by Rolle with 12:19 left in the first half. The Wildcats led 23-11 after a layup by Kenney with 4:44 remaining in the stanza. Nichols then closed out the half on a 13-3 run to cut the lead to 26-25 heading into the locker room at halftime. JWU scored 11 points off of Nichols turnovers in the half and had a 9-0 advantage in second chance points.
The Wildcats pushed their lead back to double-figures when a three-pointer by Rolle with 7:32 on the clock made the score 49-39. JWU then cruised to the 61-49 victory. A pair of free throws from senior
Kasey Pelletier (Dunstable, Mass.) helped Nichols cut its deficit to six with six minutes and change remaining, but the lead swelled back to 10 when Kenney connected on a free throw with less than three minutes remaining.
The Bison (8-7) play at Gordon Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The Wildcats play at Rivier Saturday at 1 p.m.
