Kyle Shapiro (Ambler, Mass.) scored a 5-on-3 goal in Nichols College's 7-1 loss at Suffolk in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast action Wedneday night at Charlestown DCR Rink.

Alex Larson (Madison, Alabama) was pulled after allowing four goals in the opening stanza as the Bison (3-1-1, 2-1-1 ECACNE) suffered their first loss of the season.
Sophomore goaltender
Patrick Salkind (Springfield, Va.) came in relief of Larson to begin the second period and played the final 40 minutes of the game totaling eight saves.
Shapiro scored the lone Bison goal midway through the second period after receiving a pass from sophomore
Paul Prescott (Oakdale, Minn.) and putting it past sophomore Brandon Smolarek (Chesterfield, Mich.) to pull Nichols within four goals.
It was too little, too late for the Bison, as the Rams went on to add two more after that on their way to their third win of the season. (3-2-0, 2-2-0)
Freshman Simon Leahy (Milwaukee, Wis.) and sophomore Tyler Murray (Houston, Texas) netted two goals apiece for Suffolk. Smolarek finished the game with 33 saves between the pipes.
Bison return to action Saturday with a 7:10 p.m. contest at Johnson & Wales. The Rams travel to play the Ice Hawks at Becker Saturday at 5:40 p.m.
