NEWTON, Mass. - Senior captain
Ryan Sheehan (North Attleboro, Mass.) poured in a game-high 37 points to lift the Nichols College men's basketball team to a 91-83 win at Lasell College in non-conference action Friday night at the Lasell Athletic Center.

Sam Horning (Falmouth, Maine) added 17 points and junior
Matthew Langadas (Sebago, Maine) chipped in with 15 as the Bison (1-0) won their third-straight opener and second-straight over the Lasers (0-1). Sheehan, meanwhile, shot 15-of-26 from the field (58 percent) and connected on four treys.
Senior Brandon Ganesh (West Palm Beach, Fla.) led the way for Lasell offensively with 31 points while senior Angel Ortiz (East Lyme, Conn.) chipped in another 15 markers. Sophomore Clyde Niba (Atlanta, Ga.) led the team with 11 rebounds while adding nine points.
Nichols went up 20-13 within the first eight minutes, but the Lasers were able to get the offense going to go into the half tied at 44.
The Bison opened the second half with seven-straight points to keep Lasell playing from behind throughout the second half. The Lasers cut their deficit to six points on multiple occasions, but a jumper by Horning and back-to-back three pointers by Sheehan and sophomore
Irving Eggleston (East Lyme, Conn.) pushed the margin to 14 with eight minutes remaining.
Sheehan and junior
Joe Gallant (Salem, N.H.) added eight rebounds while Horning chipped in a team-high five assists. Eggleston finished with nine points.
Nichols hosts Eastern Connecticut State Wednesday at 7 p.m. Lasell hosts Babson November 19 at 7 p.m.
