Andrea Wilson (Bedford, N.H.) scored her third goal of the season and sophomore
Molly Melanson (Simsbury, Conn.) recorded 12 saves to propel the Nichols College field hockey team to a 3-0 win over Salve Regina University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday evening at Gaudet Field.

Rachel Dalrymple (Belvidere, N.J.) also scored for the Bison (8-6, 4-2 CCC), who swept the season series from the Seahawks (7-6, 2-4 CCC). Melanson, meanwhile, picked up her third shutout of the season (two shared).
Nichols jumped on the board in the 19th minute of play when Wilson gathered a loose ball in front of the box and slapped a shot passed sophomore goalkeeper Murphy McCann (Westerly, R.I.) to give the Bison a 1-0 edge.
The Bison extended their lead in the 30th minute when sophomore
Avery Orszulak (Springfield, Mass.) raced down the right side, drew a Salve Regina defender, and then centered a pass to Dalrymple, who finished for her first goal of the season.
Nichols sealed the 3-0 win in the 69th minute when Widdison delivered a blast from 10 yards out which found the back of the box.
Nichols outshot the Seahawks 23-16, led by seven shots from Widdison. Salve Regina received 16 penalty corners, compared to 11 for the Bison. McCann finished the contest with 15 saves. Sophomore

Victoria Utter (Stafford Springs, Conn.) notched one.
Both teams return to action next Wednesday, with Nichols traveling to face Gordon at 3 p.m. and the Seahawks hosting Western New England at 7 p.m.
