Andrew Ella netted a pair of goals and two assists to lead Nichols to an 11-3 ECAC Northeast men's ice hockey victory over Suffolk Wednesday evening at Walter Brown Arena. With the win, the Bison snap a two-game drought to improve to 4-11-3 overall and 2-3-0 in the league.
Nichols raced out to a 4-0 first period advantage, including two markers off the stick of Ella that came 15 seconds apart just 4:54 into play, and scored on six of their first 11 shots on the evening to take a 6-0 edge just 21-plus minutes into the contest. Nichols, which netted five power play tallies in the triumph, also received a pair of goals each from senior
Andrew Letellier and first-year
Louie Educate, who each added assists to finish with a combined six points on the night.
Senior
Zach Hendrickson chipped in with a marker and three helpers in the win for the Bison, who also received four assists from junior
Zach Kohn and three helpers off the stick of sophomore
Blake Bishop to go with a goal and assist each from junior Danny Grenier, junior

Sophomore Charlie McGinnis and freshmen Creg Cook and Tim Sprague each netted second period markers in the setback for the host Rams (2-12, 0-5 ECAC Northeast), who also received a pair of assists off the stick of sophomore Andrew Flynn.
Senior
Jacob Rinn picked up the win in goal for Nichols with a 15-save effort, while freshman Brett Roman made 15 stops over the final 29-plus minutes in the setback for Suffolk, which also received a combined 11 stops from sophomore Cam Kelley and freshman Scott Steele. The Bison outshot the Rams by a 37-18 margin for the contest, including 28 shots over the final 40 minutes of play.
Nichols hosts Johnson & Wales in an ECAC Northeast contest on Saturday evening in Harrisville, R.I. beginning at 7:40 p.m., while Suffolk heads to West Springfield, Mass. on Saturday evening to take on Western New England in an ECAC Northeast match-up that faces off at 7:15 p.m.
