Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. (Nov. 22) – Nichols first-year goaltender Tori Gianformaggio made 43 saves to lead the visiting Bison to a 3-2 win over the Trinity College Bantams in women's ice hockey action this evening on Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center. Trinity falls to 1-2 overall this season, despite outshooting Nichols 45-10 in the game. The Bison improve to 2-3-1.
After outshooting Nichols 16-2 in the first period, Trinity was able to convert 2:06 into the second period, to take a 1-0 lead on a goal by junior Chelsea Campbell. Nichols took just three shots in the second period, all of which found the back of the Trinity net, as the Bison took a 3-1 lead. Alyssa Bufis scored first for the Bison with assists from Kerri Nadeau and Mary Fehr. The go-ahead goal by first-year Grace Murphy was scored immediately as she came back on the ice after serving a penalty off a feed from Mary Fehr. Nichols ended the second period with a goal by first-year Jordan Fencl, with just 49 seconds remaining on the clock. Megan Gerein and

Trinity opened the third period with a quick score by sophomore Lauren Glynn, bringing the Bantams within a goal. Trinity continued to pepper shots on Gianformaggio, but the backstop churned out save after save right up to the final whistle for her first collegiate win. First-year Kristen Maxwell finished the game with seven saves for the Bantams.
In the only other meeting between the programs, the Bantams defeated the Bison 6-1 in 2010.
Nichols is off until after Friday, December 2 when the team heads to Southern Maine for a 4:00 p.m. faceoff.
