Krista-Jean Forand scored a pair of goals , including the game-winner, to spark the Nichols College field hockey team to a 4-0 victory over Salve Regina University during a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest at Gaudet Field on Saturday night. The loss drops the Seahawks to 5-10 overall and 1-7 in the conference, while the Bison improve to 8-6 on the season and 4-3 during CCC play after winning their third straight game.
The Bison didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard, as Forand scored the game's first goal after just 1:12 of action to give Nichols a 1-0 lead.

The score remained 2-0 as the two teams went into the break. The Seahawks held a 6-5 edge in penalty corners during the opening period, while the Bison compiled an 11-3 advantage in shots.
Forand pushed the Nichols lead to 3-0 with her second goal of the contest, redirecting a pass from Roy in the 45th minute of play.

Emily Mercure, who made one save in the remainder.
Both teams return to CCC action at 3:30 on Tuesday, with the Bison hosting the University of New England and the Seahawks welcoming Gordon.
