WESTON, Mass. (Sept. 18) —Nichols College senior Eileen Clinton (Londonderry, N.H.) recorded a hat trick and an assist to lead the Bison to an 8-2 victory at Regis Saturday afternoon in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference game. Nichols improves to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in TCCC action, while Regis dips to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in conference games.

Clinton scored two of Nichols' four first-half goals, but it was the Pride's Meghan Robohm who struck first to give the home team an early lead, recording a penalty stroke goal in the sixth minute. Nichols carried a 4-1 advantage into halftime with additional goals from sophomore Barbara Roy (Springfield, Mass.) and junior Krista-Jean Forand (Plymouth, Mass.). Roy finished the night with a goal and an assist.

Regis knocked in the first goal of the second half as Christine O'Toole converted a Stacy Burns pass, but it was all Nichols after that. Lauren Correia and Jara Barbato (Watertown, Mass.) scored just over two minutes apart before Clinton made it 7-2 in the 58th minute. Forand capped the scoring in the 68th minute off a feed from MaryKate Frodema (Springfield, Mass.).

Nichols sophomore goalkeeper Emily Cornacchio (Salem, Mass.) registered four saves, while her counterpart, Morgan Mitchell made 20 stops as the Bison outshot the Pride, 31-8 on the day.

Nichols is back in action on Wednesday, September 22 in a 6 p.m. game at MIT.
