The Hawks cut the lead in half with 1:48 left in the frame when Corl tucked a wrister inside the glove side of Nichols goaltender Francesca Palazzo (Bernardston, Mass.). Rosemarie Giarrusso wrapped it around the boards to Corl to pick up the assist.

Kristen Byrne tied it up less than three minutes into the second period with a shot into the open right side of the net after collecting the puck off Palazzo's pads from Kaitlin O'Brien at 2:38. Courtney Winters started the play with a breakout pass.
