Bison Fall to Salve Regina, 18-7

, R.I. – Junior Nicole Fecteau [Wilbraham, Mass.] scored six goals and had one assist to spark Salve Regina University to an 18-7 victory over Nichols College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse action Monday.

 

The Seahawks (4-6, 1-2 TCCC) controlled the game from the outset, jumping out to a 5-1 lead midway through the first half. Fecteau scored three goals during a key stretch in which Salve Regina scored four unanswered goals in a span of 3:22 that pushed the lead to 9-2 with 8:19 remaining in the half.  

 

Junior Brittany Marino [Mt. Sinai, N.Y.] had three goals and two assists for the Seahawks, while sophomore Sarah Baker [Summit, N.J.] added three goals. The Salve Regina defense, led by the strong play of sophomore Deanna Salter [Westwood, Mass.], limited Nichols (2-4, 1-4 TCCC) to just 15 shots on net.

 

The Bison were led by senior Stephanie Tenczar [West Springfield, Mass.], who scored three goals. Junior Jessica Porter [Melrose, Mass.] and senior Jacquelyn Henderson [Portsmouth, R.I.] added two goals each, while junior Sarah Levesque [Ludlow, Mass.] had one assist.

 

Both teams are back in action on Tuesday, April 8. Salve Regina hosts Gordon College (4 p.m.), while Nichols hosts Colby-Sawyer College (7 p.m.).
