Roger Williams Rolls Past Bison, 16-2

, Mass.-  Roger Williams scored 14 first half goals to cruise past Nichols, 16-2, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse action on Tuesday at Vendetti Field. The Hawks had a well-balanced scoring attack as 12 different players scored. Junior Jackie Criss (Westwood, Mass.) led the way with four points off one goal and three assists. Roger Williams is now 10-3 overall and 7-2 in the conference while the Bison fall to 4-10 overall and 1-8 in TCCC play.

The Hawks racked up six goals in the opening eight minutes of the game and went on to a 10-0 lead with 13:57 still left to play in the half. Senior Stephanie Tenczar (West Springfield, Mass.) got Nichols on the board with a free position goal at the 9:30 mark. Roger Williams netted four more goals before the end of the half while junior Jessica Porter (Melrose, Mass.) scored Nichols only other goal of the game for a 14-2 halftime score. The Hawks slowed down their offensive attack in the second half, scoring just two goals for the 16-2 final.

Junior Libby Stout (Concord, Mass.), freshman Claire Halliday (Trenton, N.J.), sophomore Annie Alvord (Yorktown, N.Y.) and freshman Lauren Ferri (Northport, N.Y.) all scored two goals each for the Hawks.

In goal, sophomore MaryKate Bednarz (Springfield, Mass.) made ten saves for Nichols and Tenczar picked up a game-high ten ground balls. Roger Williams Amanda Magee (Columbus, N.J.) recorded four saves.

Nichols will close out the season this Saturday at the University of New England while Roger Williams will play at Gordon.
