Box Score MILTON, Mass.- Shane Kelly scored with 2:20 remaining to break a 6-6 tie as Curry defeated Nichols 7-6 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference men's lacrosse action on Tuesday. The Colonels improve to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in the conference while the Bison remain winless at 0-11 overall and 0-5 in TCCC play.
Freshman Tim Ahern opened the scoring for Nichols before Curry grabbed a 2-1 lead early in the second period. Ahern struck again to tie the score at 2-2 and a goal by fellow freshman Ryan Pacific gave Nichols the lead back, 3-2, with 3:32 left until halftime. Curry scored two goals in the final 40 seconds of the half to take a 4-3 lead.
Following another Curry goal, senior Lucas Wilson made it a 5-4 game with the lone man-up goal of the game at the 5:09 mark. The Colonels took a two-goal lead under a minute later but Nichols opened up the fourth quarter with goals from Ahern and senior Peter Smyth, tying things up at 6-6. Following a 10:16 break in scoring, Kelly broke the silence with 2:20 remaining to give Curry the win.
