Bison Late Surge Leads to 5-3 Victory Over Framingham State

The Nichols College men's hockey team earned a 5-3 victory against Framingham State on Saturday in ECAC Northeast action. The Bison (15-5-1) found themselves down early as the Rams (1-19) took an early 2-0 lead in the first period. However, the Bison were able to score the next three goals and five of the last six for the victory.
 
Sophomore Joseph Hurley (Charlestown, Mass.) was able to take advantage of a cross-checking penalty as the Rams took a 1-0 lead. The Rams were able to stretch their lead to 2-0 as Sean Boudreau (Arlington, Mass.) was able to score 14:54 into the period. The Bison got on the board with five seconds left in the first period when freshman JoJo Bojanowski (Washington Township, Mich.) was able to score his fifth goal of the season.
 
The Bison came out hard in the second period. Junior Anthony Monte (Chicago, Ill.) was able to tie the score on a power play goal 7:44 into the period. Monte also added two assists to add to his conference lead in assists and scoring average. Nichols took the lead 16:30 into the second period as Zeke Costello (Shelby Township, Mich.) was able to put one in the back of the net.
 
The Rams wasted no time in the third period as they tied the score 3-3 on a goal from senior Jonathan Lamken (Wareham, Mass.). However, the Bison were able to get the game winning goal from freshman John Haley (Shelburne, Vt.) at 10:02 in the third. The Bison added some insurance late in the third period as junior Ryan Gervais (Chicago, Ill.) added his conference leading 20th goal of the season.
 
Junior goaltender Keith Fink (Easton, Md.) had 25 saves in the win as sophomore Peter Dundovich (Philadelphia, Pa.) had 32 saves in the loss.
