Box Score DUDLEY, Mass. – The Roger Williams University women's soccer team defeated Nichols, 3-0, for its third-straight shutout victory Saturday afternoon. Katie Fusaro (Hopkinton, Mass.) led the Hawks with a goal and an assist in The Commonwealth Coast Conference win.
Fusaro picked up an unassisted tally in the 10th minute to put the Hawks on the board, as Roger Williams held a 9-4 shot advantage in the first half.
Furaso set up Laurin Pendleton (Southwick, Mass.) just under three minutes into the second half for the freshman's sixth goal of the season to claim a 2-0 lead.
In the 82nd minute, Kelsey Whalen (Saratoga, N.Y.) added an insurance goal, the first of her career.
Senior goalkeeper Sara Levesque (Ludlow, Mass.) made eight saves for the Bison, while Jen Garside (Londonderry, N.H.) stopped five in her sixth shutout of the season.
In the game, Roger Williams held a 16-7 shot advantage, but the Bison maintained a 6-0 lead in corner kicks.
Nichols (6-5-0, 1-4-0 TCCC) is back in action at Wentworth in a 7 p.m. TCCC game, while Roger Williams (7-2-0, 5-1 TCCC) hosts Colby-Sawyer Sunday at 1 p.m. in a conference matchup.
