WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.- The Nichols men's basketball team put up a good fight against undefeated Williams College in the championship game of the Ephs Invitational on Sunday afternoon but fell, 83-66. The Bison, who tied the game four different times in the first half, rallied back from a 14 point deficit in the second but Williams proved to be too strong down the stretch. The Bison are now 3-8 on the year while the Ephs are now 12-0.
Senior Chris Vallee (Fitchburg, Mass.) and freshman Garret Bishop (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) led Nichols with 14 points each. Sophomore Chris Paquin (Bare, Mass.) added 11 points while sophomore Bryan Riley (West Bolyston, Mass.) chipped in with ten points. Freshman Chris Smith (Moosup, Conn.) posted a solid eight points and seven rebounds in his first start of the season. Both Bishop and Riley earned All-Tournament Team honors.
Nichols will open up The Commonwealth Coast Conference play this coming Saturday, Jan. 12 at Roger Williams.
